The government has withdrawn all restrictions, including rationing, on the distribution of fuel oil following an improvement in supply, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said on Sunday.
In a press release issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, authorities said earlier measures had been introduced to manage the fuel supply situation amid disruptions caused by the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
The ministry said several imported oil tankers have already arrived at Chattogram Port, easing pressure on the supply chain.
Considering the need to ensure smooth travel during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays and to support farmers during the peak boro rice cultivation season, the government has decided to remove all restrictions on fuel distribution.
According to the announcement, the decision came into effect on 15 March 2026, allowing fuel to be supplied according to demand from all distribution points across the country until further notice.
Officials said the move aims to ensure uninterrupted fuel availability for transport, agriculture and other essential sectors during the busy festive and farming period.
