Khandakar Shakib Ahmed has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Limited during its 92nd board meeting held on April 8, 2026. In the same meeting, Mohiddin Ahmed was re-elected as Vice-Chairman, while Md. Jafar Sadeq, FCA, was elected as the other Vice-Chairman.
Khandakar Shakib Ahmed (Chairman): Born in 1975 in Dhaka, Mr. Shakib holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He is a sponsor shareholder and Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. With over three decades of business experience, he serves as the Chairman of Own the World Co. Ltd., Own the World Hajj & Umrah Ltd., and Intech Limited. He is also a Director of Aqua Consultants & Associates Ltd. and a shareholder in Millennium Information Solution Ltd. Beyond business, he is a dedicated educationist, serving on the governing bodies of Eastern University, Hardco International School, and Al-Azhar International Grammar School.
Mohiddin Ahmed (Vice-Chairman): A veteran businessman with four decades of experience, Mr. Mohiddin Ahmed was born in 1955 in Dhaka. He is the proprietor of Rupsha Trading Corporation and Mohiddin Auto House, and the Chairman of Pacific Automobiles. He also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC and is a sponsor shareholder of Islami Insurance Bangladesh Ltd. He is a former Vice-Chairman of Southeast University and a former Director of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI).
Md. Jafar Sadeq, FCA (Vice-Chairman): Md. Jafar Sadeq is currently the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. A Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), he began his career in 2002 with Huda Vasi Chowdhury (HVC) before moving into banking. Since joining Shahjalal Islami Bank in 2006, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening the bank's financial structure. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Sadeq is an expert in financial planning, risk management, and capital planning. He has participated in numerous professional training programs both at home and abroad.
