Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) has achieved an extraordinary milestone in foreign remittance collection, securing its position as the country’s second-largest remittance collector. The specialized state-owned bank recorded an exceptional surge in inflows over the last few fiscal years, culminating in a total collection of 4,100.62 million US dollars, equivalent to Tk 50,249 crore, in the recently concluded fiscal year.
The bank's trajectory highlights a massive transformation in its foreign exchange earnings. In the 2021-22 fiscal year, BKB brought in 371.83 million US dollars, ranking 17th among national banks. It steadily climbed the ranks to secure 10th place in the 2022-23 fiscal year with 522.24 million US dollars, followed by 718.48 million US dollars in the 2023-24 fiscal year.
The growth turned exponential during the 2024-25 fiscal year when collections jumped to 2,111.18 million US dollars, pushing the bank to the fourth position nationwide. By the end of the 2025-26 fiscal year, BKB crossed the historic 4 billion US dollar threshold. This represents an astounding year-on-year growth rate of over 107 percent compared to the previous fiscal year.
A major portion of this momentum was built in calendar year 2025, during which the bank set a distinct milestone by collecting 3.13 billion US dollars. The bank topped off this phenomenal fiscal run by securing the number one spot among all commercial and state-owned banks in the country for the single month of June 2026, drawing in 441.68 million US dollars in that month alone.
