The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again increased gold prices in the domestic market. With an increase of BDT 1,108 per bhori, the price of 22-carat gold, including VAT, has been set at BDT 235,146. The new rates came into effect from 10:00 AM on Tuesday (August 11) following an official announcement.
According to BAJUS, the revision follows a price surge in pure gold (Tejabi gold) within the local bullion market.
Updated Gold Prices (Per Bhori / 11.664 grams):
22-Karat: BDT 235,146 (incl. VAT)
21-Karat: BDT 224,590
18-Karat: BDT 192,864
Traditional Method: BDT 157,522
The rates will remain enforced across all jewelry outlets until further notice. Making charges based on design complexity will apply separately, though no extra VAT can be collected as it is already incorporated into the retail price.
Earlier on August 8, BAJUS had raised the price of 22-carat gold by BDT 4,374 to set it at BDT 234,038 per bhori. With this latest adjustment, domestic gold prices have been revised 101 times so far this year—comprising 50 hikes, 50 reductions, and 1 VAT realignment.
