Representatives of Piton Industries and Oman's Star Drones formalize the EV export agreement
Bangladesh's Piton Industries Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oman-based firm Modern Star Businesses LLC, operating under Star Drones, to export electric motorcycles to Oman, foster technological exchange, and explore bilateral investments.
The cross-border agreement marks a milestone for Bangladesh's nascent electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing ecosystem, opening direct commercial access to the Middle Eastern market.
The deal was formalized on Monday at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026, held at the Novo Theatre in Dhaka, in the presence of Science and Technology Ministry Secretary Md Anwar Hossain. Piton Industries Managing Director Sheikh Iqbal Zahedi and Modern Star Businesses LLC Founder and CEO Said Abdul Ghafoor Saifuddin signed on behalf of their respective companies. Fathia bint Ahmed Al Balushi, deputy head of mission and minister plenipotentiary at the Embassy of Oman in Bangladesh, was present as a special guest.
According to a press release, the Omani delegation finalized the investment partnership after inspecting the fair and noting the engineering quality of local prototypes and young entrepreneurial talent. As an initial deployment, Bangladeshi-manufactured EV motorcycles will be integrated into the delivery fleet of "Bees," a popular food delivery platform in Oman. The long-term roadmap envisions establishing a full-fledged vehicle assembly line within Oman to supply wider Middle Eastern demand, alongside bilateral technical exchange and reverse engineering initiatives.
