Actress-model Snigdha Chowdhury has extended her heartfelt gratitude to colleagues, friends, well-wishers and members of the media for the sympathy, encouragement and unwavering support she has received during this challenging time. She also thanked her fans for their messages of love and solidarity, saying their support has given her strength.
According to her statement, although her physical injuries are expected to heal with time, the emotional trauma she has endured remains profound. She said she requires time to recover mentally before returning to a normal life.
Referring to her recent press conference, Snigdha said she had spoken openly while under immense emotional and physical distress. She clarified that she had never intended to disrespect or belittle anyone through her remarks. If any colleague or member of the modelling community was hurt by her words, she offered her sincere apology.
She also reiterated her demand for a fair and impartial investigation, saying she hopes no other woman will have to endure a similar experience. Snigdha alleged that drugs had been mixed into her drink, after which she was physically assaulted and subjected to severe abuse. She said she remains under medical treatment as she continues to recover from both the physical and psychological impact of the incident. She further alleged that she escaped by jumping from the second floor of Ashiyan Medical.
Concluding her statement, Snigdha said her physical and mental well-being is her highest priority. She expressed hope of returning to her professional life after making a full recovery and sought continued prayers and support from everyone.
Snigdha Chowdhury accused Ashiyan Group Chairman Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan of confining and assaulting her after she visited his Khilkhet office to discuss a brand ambassador deal. On Monday, she announced the allegations at a press conference at her Banani residence and also filed a case with Khilkhet Police Station.
